Metropolitan Major Pennant

Round 2 of the Metropolitan Major Pennant saw our boys head to St Michael’s for their return leg. A 7am tee off would normally see still conditions but unfortunately this was not the case. High winds and fast greens made the already tough St Michael’s course even more difficult. Birdies were rare and many holes were won or halved with bogies. Our boys fought hard, but the home course advantage proved too strong, and we were defeated 6-1.

Our only win came from Alex Platts who handled the conditions well. He ground out a 2 and 1 win in a see-sawing contest. Chris Lawler was our next best and carried on his Saturday form taking Harrison Crowe all the way to the 17th hole before succumbing. St Michael’s proved too strong in the other matches taking the wins comfortably.

Thank you to all that came out and supported, in particular young guns Kyle, Ryder and Zavier. We would also like to make special mention of Steve from Southern Cross Minibuses who looked after us with a mini coach for the trip.

Our next match will be against Pymble Golf Club this Sunday 13th February at Penrith. The first match will tee off at 11am.
