From the Golf Committee

As you may know by now, the government health authorities have allowed community sport to commence effective 1 July 20. Following this Golf NSW advised we can now allow 2 players per cart. We will be following this recommendation subject to there being a dedicated driver for the round with the passenger only occupying the passengers seat at all times.
Please ensure you continue to observe Social Distancing Laws and Public Gathering Laws – do not congregate in groups of more than 20 and keep at least 1.5 metres away from anybody else. Avoid close contact with people including hand shaking and hugging etc. We encourage all members to carry a personal hand sanitiser at all times on the course.
Based on the recommencement of community sport we have also reviewed the current playing conditions. These can be viewed in full [here] and can be summarised as follows:

      • Bunkers will now have rakes in them and therefore there will no longer have preferred lies. We recommend using a hand sanitiser after using a rake in the bunker,
      • The cups in the holes will now be returned to normal, however, we strongly recommend leaving the flagstick in to avoid touching the flagstick. If you need to touch the flagstick we recommend doing this with your gloved hand. Again, the use of a hand sanitiser is strongly recommended,
      • Nearest to the pin competitions will return,
      • Scorecards must now be marked by a fellow competitor. All cards must now be correctly completed and signed by both the player and the marker. Players will be disqualified for cards that do not comply with the rules of golf including not being signed by both player and marker. Until such time as the club re-opens players must continue to place their card into the box provided outside of the pro shop. Someone from the Golf Committee will scan and save all competition cards.
      • Sand buckets will now be available for general use. If you took a sand bucket for your own use during the time of modified rules could you please return it to one of the numerous sand bucket bays around the course. We continue to ask you to fill as many divots as you can during your round – especially your own. Remember it is our course to look after.

On other matters, please note there was a typo in a earlier post about the Top Gun final. This will be played on Sunday 1 November 20 and the Calcutta will be held Saturday night 31 October 20.

Time sheets will continue to be open at 7.00 pm 10 days in advance. For example, the timesheet for Saturdays will be open on Wednesday nights, therefore the time sheet for Saturday 18 July 20 will open Wednesday 8 July 20 at 7.00 pm.

Once the club re-opens we will be reverting back to the Friday night timesheet draw for Saturday competitions. Please keep an eye out for postings on our social media.

The Waiting List will continue to be in operation as we are still getting high numbers, especially on Saturday during these winter months with shorter days. If you cannot book a tee spot on Saturday please ensure you put your name on the Waiting List. If you are on the Waiting List, please make sure you keep an eye out for an email advising you have been booked into a tee time. With cancellations all wait listed players have been generally getting a game.

Thank you.
