After starting the season with a narrow loss at Lynwood Country Club, the team returned home on match day two with a commanding 5-2 victory over Lynwood to move into second place in the Division. Back-to-Back losses to one of the tournament heavyweights in NSW Golf Club meant winning the group was out of the question as they headed into the final matches of the season, against Concord Golf Club. After a 5-2 loss away from home on match day five, it all came down to the final match of the season, at home against Concord, where nothing short of a win was going to be enough.

Spurred on by a huge gallery of Penrith GC Members, the Penrith team got off to a flyer, with Michael Organ and Dale Hughes winning impressively to quickly open up a 2-0 lead. Jonah Metuangaro, Jeff Gadd and Josh Scott then showed nerves of steel, each of them coming down the 18^th hole with the score at 1up and making crucial pars on the last to secure victory. That gave the team an unassailable 5-0 lead, and despite Josh Gadd and Blade Gadd going down against their impressive opponents in the top two matches, the damage was done as Penrith recorded a 5-2 victory.

That meant a nervous wait for the result of the other match, as NSW GC picked up the win against Lynwood Country Club which saw Concord, Penrith and Lynwood all finish the season tied on 2 points. In the end, it came down to individual match results, with the 2 x 5-2 victories at home proving just enough for the boys to stay in Division 1.

The team was led impressively throughout the season by Blade Gadd who picked up three points whilst playing every match in the difficult number 1 position, with Jeff Gadd proving there is still some life in the old boy, also picking up three points over the course of the season.
