ACT Amateur Championship
A solid contingent of Penrith’s finest made the trip to ACT last week to contest the ACT Amateur Championship that forms part of the NSW Senior Order of Merit. The squad was made up of Danny Acret, Denis Day, Jeff Gadd, Graeme Howland, Craig Murray, Duane Orth and Dale Turner.
It was a 3 day 54 hole tournament played at Queenbeyan, Gold Creek and Gungahlin Lakes.
Congratulations to Dale Turner on being crowned the 2024 ACT Senior Champion with scores of 70, 72 and 79 for a 5 over 221 to win by 2 shots and taking home the cash and the trophy. Well done Dale.
Also congratulations to Denis Day who won the nett event with a nett score of 212, was tied for 6th on 227 in the main event and runner up in the over 65 category – well done Denis.
A creditable performance also by Jeff Gadd who was tied for 11th in the main event on 230.
Well done all as we were also the most represented club outside of the ACT.
What a great overall performance and a credit to the camaraderie at the club.
